Sebastián Boesmi inaugurates Order in Chaos in Nuances
Next Friday, August 29 , visual artist Sebastián Boesmi will inaugurate his new exhibition, " Order in Chaos ," at Matices Art Gallery (Cruz del Defensor 241) in Asunción at 7:00 p.m. The exhibition brings together sculpture, painting, drawing, and video art, with the work "Piano Bull ," a piece over one meter tall that forms the central axis of the exhibition, being a highlight.
Spanish critic and journalist Javier Díaz-Guardiola , coordinator of ABC Cultural, wrote the curatorial text accompanying the exhibition. He noted that Boesmi's artistic research addresses concepts such as transformation, identity, and the tension between nature and artificiality , through multiple visual languages.
The main sculpture, Piano Bull , was transported from Madrid, the artist's city of residence. The piece, measuring 117 cm high, 130 cm long, and 80 cm wide , is made of bioplastic and ceramic, coated with fiberglass and hand-painted, achieving a mirror-like shine. According to Boesmi, it is a unique work that synthesizes the hybridity between the organic and the artificial.
The exhibition also includes bronze sculptures from the Piano Bull series, presented in 2024. These works, made of resin, polished bronze, and chrome plating , are part of a limited edition of eight certified pieces, each weighing seven kilos. The artist explained that this new series represents a technical evolution of previous works made with 3D printing.
Alongside the exhibition, paintings produced between 2023 and 2025 are on display, as well as video art pieces that engage in dialogue with the rest of the collection. In addition, Boesmi presents the project Clandestine Curatorships , in which he transforms graffiti found in downtown Asunción into neon works, accompanied by photographs that reveal their street origins.
The exhibition will remain open until September 20th and includes an inclusive experience for people with visual impairments . Visitors can access the curatorial text and descriptions of the artworks using Navi Lens codes. This decision stems from the artist's experience with a blind visitor at his previous exhibition.
As part of the exhibition, Boesmi will also be developing its Experimental Workshops Project , offering free activities for art students and creators who wish to strengthen their projects in the visual arts. Through this, it seeks to create a space for exchange and learning.
With Order in Chaos , Sebastián Boesmi reaffirms his search for a language that unites the material and the symbolic, in a visual journey where the hybrid and the tension between opposites become an aesthetic meeting point.
