From Madrid to Asunción, Sebastián Boesmi brings “Order in Chaos”

Paraguayan visual artist Sebastián Boesmi will inaugurate his art exhibition, "Order in Chaos," this Friday, August 29, at 7:00 p.m. at the Matices Gallery (Cruz del Defensor 241). The exhibition features sculptures, paintings, drawings, and video art.

Boesmi's exhibition features works in various formats. It includes a series of paintings created between 2023 and 2025, video art, and the project Clandestine Curatorships, for which Boesmi explored the streets of downtown Asunción in search of graffiti to translate into neon.

Likewise, a sculpture Piano Bull over one meter tall as the star of the exhibition (117 cm high by 130 long and 80 wide). “It is a unique piece, made of bioplastic and ceramic, coated with fiberglass, hand-painted and lacquered, which gives it a shine and a mirrored effect,” said Boesmi.

Visitors will also find bronze sculptures from the Piano Bull series, presented last year, which this time underwent a different creation process. Made of resin, polished bronze, and chrome-plated bronze, they are part of a limited edition of eight pieces, each weighing seven kilos of certified bronze. Another series, in hand-painted resin, represents an evolution of the previous work, which was handcrafted using 3D printing.

The exhibition text is by Javier Díaz-Guardiola, coordinator of ABC Cultural in Spain, a journalist specializing in art. “It is an exhibition that brings together works developed in an artistic investigation that It addresses concepts such as transformation, identity, and the tension between nature and artificiality .”

“To achieve this, the artist uses painting, drawing, sculpture, and video art, creating a visual narrative that reflects complexity and profusion .”

Order in Chaos will remain open until September 20th with a special invitation for people with visual impairments, who will be able to access the curatorial text and commentary through Navi Lens codes to understand and explore the works. Inspired by a visually impaired person who visited his last exhibition in Paraguay, whose companion explained each piece to them verbally, Boesmi decided to make this exhibition inclusive.

On the other hand, continuing with his “Experimental Workshops Project”, the artist will give free workshops for art students and people with a project in visual arts.
