SEBASTIÁN BOESMI EXHIBITS HIS "ORDER IN CHAOS" WITH ART IN DIFFERENT FORMATS

Visual artist Sebastián Boesmi, currently residing in Spain, returned to Paraguay to present “Order in Chaos,” an exhibition featuring drawings, paintings, sculptures, and video art. One of the unique aspects of this exhibition, on display at the Matices gallery, is a “Piano Bull” over a meter tall.

Sebastian Boesmi The exhibition opened last Friday “Order in chaos” , which will remain until September 20 at Matices Art Gallery (Cruz del Defensor 241).

This exhibition brings together works in different formats and techniques, but one of the main attractions is the sculpture of “Piano Bull” 117 centimeters high, 130 centimeters long and 80 centimeters wide.

“It is a unique piece, made of bioplastic and ceramic, coated with fiberglass, hand-painted and lacquered, which gives it a shine and a mirror effect,” said the artist, who, although born in Argentina, has developed a good part of his career in Paraguay.

The piece was flown in from Madrid, Spain; and other sculptures by the artist can also be seen in the exhibition. “Piano Toro” , smaller in size, made of resin, polished bronze and chromed bronze.

The exhibition text for this show was written by the Spanish journalist Javier Díaz Guardiola , coordinator of ABC Cultural in Spain, highlighted that this exhibition “brings together works developed in an artistic investigation that addresses concepts such as transformation, identity, and the tension between nature and artificiality.”

For his part, Boesmi stated that his work “explores the hybrid, that which escapes a rigid definition.” “It is based on a combination of materials that create a dialogue between the organic and the artificial, generating a tension that is not limited to contrasts, but rather seeks to find points of connection,” he added.

The exhibition includes paintings created between 2023 and 2025, video art, and the project “Clandestine curatorships” For which Boesmi walked the streets of downtown Asunción in search of graffiti to bring to the neon.

“Through this work, I want people to look at the walls of downtown Asunción, to pay attention to their surroundings, because we're on our phones in the car and we don't see the situation the city is in. So, in my exhibition, my work, the neon, is displayed alongside a photo of the graffiti, so that the viewer knows that this comes from the street,” Boesmi said.

Another unique feature of this exhibition is its accessibility for people with visual impairments. Using NaviLens codes, they can access the curatorial text and commentary to understand and explore the artworks.

The artist will also give some free workshops for students, as part of his “ Experimental Workshops Project ”.
