Welcome to You (2015)

Sebastián Boesmi draws, and always, his single line unravels interconnected stories through other lines that intertwine and blur. A line that never lets go, speaking of universes and depths. Of atmospheres, almost primitive in their treatment of colored and stained space, brimming with images, expressing a passion that meanders through and defines all of Sebastián Boesmi's work. An atmosphere linked to humankind and its passions.

Many of the stories reside in our memory and our feelings. The echoes of great Paraguayan artists glide through the intricate and elaborate landscapes that unfold before us, and we recognize ourselves in that world despite the personal galaxy that expands throughout his work. He develops a system for narrating his interpretation of the world, observing and emphasizing how connections and relationships between worlds are established.

Sebastián Boesmi, due to his training and knowledge, draws on expressive codes from various cultures and, as he himself states, decodes them in relation to himself. He questions himself, speaks to himself, reflects on himself, asks or commands, and attempts, through this gesture, to encounter the other, or perhaps not. Although everything always points to the other, to alterity, to an encounter beyond words and images.
